Investec Bank Channel Islands
appoints new Managing Director
Brendan Stewart has been appointed
Managing Director of Investec Private Bank
in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man.
Brendan succeeds Stephen Henry, who is
retiring after 10 years in the post.
Brendan Stewart has held a number of
senior roles with Investec Bank Limited in
South Africa in his 14 years with the group,
including Regional Head, Investec Private Bank in Durban, and for the
past decade has been responsible for growing the regional Private
Banking business within the region and a staff of 130 people. During
this time he sat on the bank’s National Management Committee, which
oversees development and strategy in South Africa.
Previously Brendan held management positions with accountants Grant
Thornton and EY, and the London-based venture capital firm, Unilever
Ventures. Commenting on his appointment Brendan Stewart said, “First of all I have
to pay tribute to the contribution that Stephen Henry has made to the
success of Investec Private Banking in the Channel Islands, displaying
sound leadership and vision to build our team of professionals. I am
looking forward to working with our teams in Guernsey, Jersey and Isle
of Man as we continue to build on solid foundations and deliver excellent
service and flexible banking solutions for our clients.

Brendan Stewart is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, having
completed the Programme for Leadership Development, is a member of
the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, is a Fellow of the
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and holds a Degree
and Post-Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Natal
in Durban. Married with three children, Brendan offi cially took over from
Stephen Henry at the beginning of April 2019.
Old Mutual International welcomes
appointment of AAM Advisory CEO
AAM Advisory, the Singapore-based financial
advice business, which is part of Quilter plc, has
announced the appointment of Eryk Lee as
its new chief executive offi cer. The news
has been welcomed by Old Mutual

International, which is one of the largest financial services employers on
the Isle of Man with over 450 staff.
Established over 30 years ago, and as the international arm of Quilter
plc, Old Mutual International offers wealth management solutions to
expatriates and local investors across the world including Asia, Europe,
Middle East, Latin America and into the UK. Old Mutual International
operates from the Isle of Man and Dublin and has regional offi ces in Hong
Kong, Singapore and Dubai.
Eryk Lee, previously chief financial offi cer of AAM, has vast financial and
managerial experience in a number of large organisations which make
him ideally placed to take over the day-to-day running of the business as it
expands and collaborates further with Old Mutual International to produce
good client outcomes.
Prior to joining AAM, he was a director at Royal Bank of Scotland and
had previously held roles at HSBC, KPMG and Ernst & Young among
others. He said: “I’m really excited about the future prospects for the
business, including opportunities to work more collaboratively with
Old Mutual International to support the further expansion of AAM and
continue to deliver great outcomes for our clients. I am thrilled to be
able to spearhead this strategy as we embark on the next phase of the
company’s growth.”
Eryk succeeds Matthew Dabbs who has stepped down from the role
but will remain with AAM in an executive role. As a founding member of
AAM over 10 years ago, Matthew has played an integral role in driving the
growth of the business and broadening its distribution in the region.
Headteacher appointed at St.
Mary’s Catholic Primary School
Donna Martin has been appointed
as headteacher at St. Mary’s Catholic
Primary School.
Mrs Martin has worked in teaching for
20 years. She is Manx born and brought
up within the Catholic faith on the island.
She attended Rushen Primary School and
Castle Rushen High School.
Mrs Martin has taught at Peel Clothworkers’ since 2007 when she was
appointed as Assistant Headteacher and then promoted to Deputy
Headteacher in 2013. Over the past eighteen months she has been
Acting Headteacher at Peel Clothworkers’ and in post at St Mary’s since
October 2018. Her permanent appointment was confirmed following a
rigorous interview process.
Mrs Martin said: ‘I am very much looking forward to continuing to work
with the parents, pupils, staff, governors and the church at St Mary’s
