Focusing on the commercial market, I am very much looking forward to strengthening the relationships I already have globally, as well as meeting new clients who are looking for a different way to manage their banking requirements. CIG is a long established well-known name on the Isle of Man, known for its values of Integrity, Innovation and Excellence. I am delighted to be joining a new and exciting part of the Group, and sit on the Board with excellent, high calibre professionals.” Debra has had many highlights during her career along with the privilege of leading dynamic teams in her time in banking: “My favourite achievement was whilst working for a large Bank. We had never been shortlisted for industry awards despite the Bank being around for some time. Within a short space of time of joining this Bank and getting to know our clients better, we not only won a prestigious industry award, about which we all were very proud, we then went on to win it three years on the run and actually proved you can go from “Zero to Hero” very quickly with a great team and a desire to win.” Debra added: “I was also very fortunate to be chosen for The Manx Executive Challenge in the 1990s which really did help transform industry diversification. After over 25 years in banking, with various leadership roles, I am now looking forward to the years to come at CIG where I recognise a special opportunity to make an impact on the company’s growth trajectory.” Antony Kelsey, Group Commercial Director at CIG said: “We are delighted to have attracted an individual of Debra’s quality and reputation to join us. She is well known, not only in the local Manx industry but also further afield in a number of other jurisdictions that we are planning to target in 46 | our future growth plans. Debra also brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience of the banking industry that we know will add substantial value to our existing activity. We look forward to her spearheading our commercial plans in the treasury area of our business.” In her spare time Debra loves to travel and spend time with family and friends, as well as to pay for gym memberships and then not go!
